Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha

Recently finished watching Season 1 of this series and I'm currenlty on episode 8 of the second season (Mahou Shoujou Lyrical Nanoha As). Basically, it's like the cross between Cardcaptors (very young heroine type character), Sailor Moon (talking animals, multiple magical girls, and transformation sequences), Bleach (well thought out fight scenes, cool weapons, and beautifully designed characters), and DBZ (large explosions, many different enemies to fight, and power levels over 9,000!).

So you've got this third-grade girl named Nanoha who's basically just making her way through life and enjoying spending time with her friends, when one night she has a dream about a boy waging a magical battle with an unseen enemy. The creature he's fighting gets away after wounding the boy, and he collapses as she wakes up. She didn't think much about it until the next day, when she was walking to school with her friends and heard him calling out to her. She rushes into the forrest and discovers him as he...transforms into a ferret...yeah, a ferret. The story unfolds from this point as the creature from earlier makes another appearance, attempting to kill the two of them later.

As for the plot of the story, I'll leave that up to you guys to find out, but honestly, it's worth the watch and the second season takes it up a notch...actually, quite a few notches, and introduces all new enemies, friends, and weapons systems for the girls.
